The Public Access Case Lookup is a free search tool maintained by the Arizona Judicial Branch. Users can search by name or case number and should select “Coconino County Superior” from the court dropdown menu. This portal allows viewing of docket information at no charge but does not offer document downloads.

In-Person Access

Walk-in requests are accepted at all Coconino County courthouses during business hours. The Superior Court and Flagstaff Justice Court share a location at the county courthouse. Are Court Records Public in Coconino County?

Arizona maintains a strong policy of public access to court records. Under Arizona’s Public Records Law (Title 39) and Supreme Court of Arizona Rule 123, court records in the custody of any clerk are open to public inspection during business hours. Sealed or expunged records are not accessible through any public search tool. Certain documents viewable through eAccess may also be restricted if they are closed to the public by law, court rule, or court order, or if they contain sensitive or confidential information.

Coconino County Criminal Court Records

Criminal cases in Coconino County are distributed across the Superior Court, Justice Courts, and Municipal Courts based on the severity of the charges. The Superior Court hears felony prosecutions and misdemeanor cases appealed from lower courts. Coconino County provides personal criminal history checks — meaning individuals may request their own records but the county does not issue criminal records on other persons for general public use. The fee is $7, payable in cash or check. Individuals who hold a Section 8 Housing Authority letter may have the fee waived.

Family court records from the Superior Court can be searched through the eAccess portal or the Case Lookup tool. In-person requests are accepted at the Clerk’s office, 200 N San Francisco St, Flagstaff, during business hours. Copies are $0.50 per page.

Marriage Licenses and Records

Marriage licenses are issued by the Clerk of the Superior Court in Flagstaff and also at the Page Justice Court and Williams Justice Court. Both parties must appear together in person. The marriage license fee is $98.00, payable in cash, cashier’s check, or money order at Flagstaff (credit/debit cards accepted only at the Flagstaff location). The Page and Williams Justice Courts accept cashier’s checks or money orders only.

Certified copies of a marriage license or application (an Affidavit of Record of Marriage) cost $35.00 each. These can be obtained in person at the Clerk’s office, ordered online (with an additional $8.00 postage and handling fee), or by mail. Mail requests should include a letter with the full names of both parties, the approximate marriage date, the marriage license number if known, a contact phone number and email, a self-addressed stamped envelope, and a $35.00 cashier’s check or money order payable to the Clerk of Superior Court. The public may visit the Clerk’s office to conduct marriage record research at no cost.

Birth and Death Records

Birth and death certificates in Coconino County are issued by Coconino County Health and Human Services (CCHHS). Certified copies cost $20 each. Only individuals age 18 or older who meet eligibility requirements established by the Arizona Department of Health Services may obtain these records — eligible persons include the registrant, parents, spouse, grandparents, legal guardians, adult children, siblings, attorneys, and certain government agencies and institutions.

Requests can be submitted in person (by appointment or during walk-in hours), by mail, or online through VitalChek (additional processing fees apply). Walk-in birth certificate services are available, though service delivery may be affected by the building remodel at the King Street location anticipated to conclude in mid-2026. Processing time is normally up to 10 business days.

Coconino County Probate Court Records

The Clerk of the Superior Court handles all probate matters in Coconino County, including the administration of estates, probate of wills, appointment of guardians and conservators, and related proceedings. The court provides small estate probate forms for estates that qualify under Arizona statute, including an Affidavit for Transfer of Real Property and an Affidavit for Collection of Personal Property. In-person requests are handled at the Clerk of the Superior Court’s office at 200 N San Francisco St, Flagstaff, during regular business hours.

For the Affidavit for Transfer of Real Property process, the completed affidavit and required documentation are filed with the Clerk of the Superior Court. Once processed, the filer obtains a certified copy and is responsible for delivering it to the Coconino County Recorder’s Office to initiate the title transfer.
